PRIVATE
Private treatment is offered to those children who do not qualify for NHS treatment and those who would like more flexibility in their treatment. The private fees are discounted for children in order to make treatment more affordable.

NHS
The decision concerning a patient’s eligibility for NHS treatment is based on a compulsory scoring system carried out at the initial consultation. With limited resources, NHS funded orthodontic treatment is available for children with moderate to severe problems who will benefit from treatment for dental health reasons. The only option for those with mild irregularities where the benefit is considered cosmetic will be treatment on a private basis.
An NHS assessment and any follow-up appointments will not guarantee that NHS treatment will be offered. Children who have been accepted for NHS treatment will usually be put on a waiting list. Your Orthodontist will be able to give you some idea of how long the waiting list is at your first visit.
Appointment times are usually limited to school times only.
